If you are looking for something fun to do on Fourth of July weekend but aren’t sure what is out there, check out this list of events in and around town. Have fun and be safe!

Chattanooga 4th of July Events

Red, White, and Blueberries at the Chattanooga Market

July 2, 11am-4pm
Celebrating the 4th of July weekend, blueberries are the firecracker of the day…enjoy blueberries in just about everything at Chattanooga Market. Patrons can enter in one of our blueberry pie-eating contests (noon and 1pm), featuring fresh baked pies made by the Culinard Cooking Institute and prepared with fresh, local blueberries. At 3pm cheer on your favorite vendors during the Chattanooga Market Vendor pie-eating competition! Win a pie to take home! Sign up at the Market Information Desk on Sunday, 30 minutes before each contest. And don’t miss our much anticipated “You be The Judge” pie-eating contest at 2pm, featuring a handful of our Hamilton County Court Judges – it’s a little messy, but a lot of fun!

Collegedale’s Independence Day Concert and Fireworks

July 3, 5pm
Collegedale Veteran’s Park
Fourteen-time Grammy award winning artist Ricky Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder will join the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra (“ETSO”) for the City of Collegedale’s Independence Day celebration.

Chattanooga Pops on the River

July 3, 8pm
Coolidge Park
The performance by Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, showcasing a spectrum of patriotic and traditional tunes as well as music from some of America’s most influential composers, is followed by a fireworks finale over the Tennessee River. Blankets, lawn chairs and picnic basket meals are welcome, although food and drink concessions are also available at the park and support the event financially.

Southern Belle Fireworks Cruise

July 3, Time TBA
Watch the fireworks at Coolidge Park! You’ll have a bird’s eye view of the display. There’s no better seat than right on the water. Concession stand available for snacks and spirits!

Red, White, and Blue Day

July 4, 12 noon-4pm
Creative Discovery Museum
Red White and Blue Day gives families a fun way to celebrate the holiday while exploring the historical reason for the holiday. This may be the only place offering patriotic activities meaningful to children and adults in the midst of picnics and outside activities that don’t necessarily reference the historical reason for the holiday. All children know about and love birthdays, but how many July 4th celebrations actually throw a birthday party for America?

Lookouts Baseball Game and Fireworks

July 4
Game starts at 6:15pm
Our hometown team will be playing the Tennessee Smokies, and a fireworks show set to patriotic music will take place after the game.

Fireworks at Lake Winnie

July 1 and July 4
Fireworks start at 10pm
Lake Winnepesaukah
Go during the day to ride the Cannon Ball Coaster or soak up the sun at the sun at the SoakYa! waterpark. Stay until 10pm for the fireworks.

Chattanooga Football Club Game

July 4, 7:30pm
Finley Stadium
Come out to watch Chattanooga FC play the Georgia Revolution!

Happy 4th of July! We hope you enjoy celebrating this special day with your family and friends!

  1. This is our first year in Chattanooga and are relocating here. What’s the best stuff to do on July 4th? Have a high schooler that is hard to please since moving here and missing her friends. She hasn’t gone to school here to really make any yet. Realm want her to have some fun.
