Get Away to Elk Springs Resort

0

Our anniversary comes in the fall, wedged between Halloween and Thanksgiving, which makes it the perfect time for my husband and I to get away and refresh before diving in to all the holiday crazy. This year we decided to escape to Gatlinburg for the weekend sans kids and spend two glorious quiet nights in a cabin at Elk Springs Resort.

It was just what we needed!

The secluded resort is situated off the Parkway in the forests between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, making it simple to get to either town for a day full of fun. However, if you’re like us, we just want to get away from it all and relax. We wanted to wake up to the fall leaves out our window. We wanted to watch football. And we wanted to enjoy each other’s company.

In fact, we left “Blackjack,” our cabin home, only once for a few groceries and a Red Box. The rest of our time was spent cozying up by the gas fireplace, watching a movie on the huge downstairs projector screen, and eating simple, home-cooked meals that did NOT include macaroni and cheese or chicken sticks. It. Was. Glorious.

The cabin was clean, quiet, surrounded by lush woods, and had everything we needed for indoor or outdoor fun.

We had a large jacuzzi tub for relaxing, or if we preferred to relax outside surrounded by nature we could hop in the hot tub. The deck had a grill and enough rockers for a whole family to enjoy the serene mornings.

Inside, the fireplace was our favorite feature, but you could also play a game of pool, watch a movie on the large projector screen, or share a drink at the downstairs wet bar! This particular cabin had it all. Had we brought our kids (which we didn’t) they would have loved the downstairs bedroom with two bunk beds and easy access to the hot tub, projector screen, and video games.

Once you’ve relaxed and recharged, the resort is just up the road from the Historic Arts and Crafts Community, and only minutes from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Gatlinburg, and all of your favorite adventures and restaurants in Pigeon Forge.
